Call for posters

The organizing committee of CARTOGRASS 2026 invites the scientific, technical, and professional community to submit contributions in poster format on any topic related to the mapping, monitoring, conservation, and management of seagrass meadows.

The poster session aims to foster the exchange of knowledge, experience, and methodological advances among researchers, students, public administrations, consultancies, and companies specialized in the marine field.

Accepted posters will be displayed during the dedicated session scheduled for November 26, 2026.

Topics

Contributions may address, among others, the following topics:

Mapping and monitoring

Seagrass meadow mapping.
Ecological and environmental monitoring of seagrass meadows.
Time series and long-term monitoring.
Conservation status assessment.

Methods and technologies

Satellite remote sensing.
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Photogrammetry and 3D reconstruction.
Side-scan sonar and multibeam systems.
Coastal and bathymetric LIDAR.
Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and ROVs.
Towed cameras and underwater video systems.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Geographic information systems (GIS).

Poster specifications

Posters must meet the following specifications. Size: A0 portrait (841 × 1189 mm), oriented vertically. Language: Spanish, Portuguese, or English. Printing is the authors’ responsibility. A0 portrait is currently the most widely used format at international scientific conferences and ensures proper visibility during the session.

Design recommendations

Use a title clearly visible from a minimum distance of 2 meters, and include the names and affiliations of all authors. Use high-quality figures, maps, and infographics, minimizing the amount of text and prioritizing visual clarity and readability. Recommended font sizes are 72–100 pt for the title, 36–48 pt for headings, and 24–32 pt for the main text.
